Help to maintain a neat and organized classroom Assist children & families in small group activities Assist Lead Teacher & Teachers with implementing the lesson plans Assist in planning and preparing the learning environment (i.

setting up centers, preparing needed materials and supplies, checking-in students) Observe, record, and report on the behavior of individual children as assigned Supervise activities to ensure safety at all times Help Lead Teacher to supervise and promote activities designed to enhance the healthy emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development of children enrolled at the Center.
QUALITIES OF THE RIGHT CANDIDATE:
Must have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, be able to relate well to children, and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the Center's program and philosophy.
Ability to write routine reports and documentation.
Ability to work and communicate effectively with people of diverse cultures, education, social, and economic backgrounds.
Ability to work in a team centered environment and take direction.
Ability to exercise mature judgment.
Ability to complete basic exams after training.
Ability to display a positive and professional demeanor.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must have the ability to:
Work with children on the floor Perform light cleaning duties Light typing and word processing This position is performed in an open air-conditioned classroom.
This position can be moderately physical.
There is frequent standing, bending, sitting for periods of time, and fast-paced walking.
Assisting consumers in wheelchairs, with walkers, gait-belts that require pushing, supporting and guiding.
Occasional lifting of weight that varies between 10-50 pounds.
On occasion, consumers may become physical including but not limited to hitting, kicking, grabbing, and biting.
REQUIRED
Experience:
Previous experience working with children (especially 0-3 population) preferred.
If no previous experience, we will train the right candidate.
Knowledge of child development, creative arts (music, art, performance) preferred.
