Position Available:
Field Energy Consultant (Outside Solar Sales Consultant, Residential)
Position Description:
Strive to exceed customer expectations and build strong relationships with home-owners. Actively identify and pursue leads, address customer's questions and concerns, and meet sales quotas of solar systems and energy efficiency services. We take a consultative approach to educating customers on the growing solar/clean energy industry. Outside Sales Consultants will spend much of their time traveling to and visiting with prospective customers at their homes. Outside Sales Consultants are the primary external representatives of SolarCity and are expected to convey a sense of expertise in services and capabilities offered. This position requires tact, adaptability, confidence (without arrogance), and a high degree of customer service and professionalism. oSales of residential solar electric systems and energy efficiency services. oClosing deals and signing contracts at client homes. oProspecting for and qualifying leads. oUtilizing online tools and conducting preliminary site evaluations to develop an initial system design. The design is primarily used to provide the customer with a visual example of how a solar system will look in his/her home. oGenerating project proposals/quotes for customers. oAnalysis of customer's current and projected electrical usage and financial return on investment. o Must have a clear understanding of contract agreements and be able to explain and review agreements with customers. oCommunicating with project and design team throughout job completion. oLogging all communications with customers in CRM contact database.
Position Requirements:
Minimum 4-5 years of a successful track record of in-home sales experience. o Experience with solar installation, design, or sales preferred (though not required because we offer training). o Proven ability to build and develop business relationships. oExperience building a book of business. o Strong ability to project monthly sales numbers. oProficiency with Microsoft Office and Basic Excel a must. CRM experience a plus. oDesire to stay on the leading edge of the solar and renewable energies industry. o Understanding of general construction a plus. oWorld class communication and customer service skills and experience. o Four year college degree preferred. oClean DMV driving record in the last 5 years. o All candidates must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background and drug screen.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
