What you'll be doing:
Work with Technical Product Managers to develop ETL and data processing specifications to create modeling datasets.
Process large data files based on the business rules and specifications using HIVE
Identify outliers, exceptions, and data inconsistencies
Validate the processed data
Generate data dictionary
Documentation - Document the data processing rules, mapping tables, missing value filling rules
Client Communication - Participate in client meetings; review data with internal stakeholders using Excel, Power-point, and other data visualization tools.
Methodology Development - Contribute to MarketShare's portfolio of internal data processing tools.
Skills, Talents, Experience you will need:
A degree in Computer Science, Math or similar quantitative field
Expert-level SQL, Hive Skills.
Develop, update, and streamline Unix scripts
Exposure to Hadoop ecosystem will be an added advantage
Working knowledge on BigData will be an added advantage
A keen ability to turn ambiguous business requirements into ETL/SQL queries.
Investigate and resolve data issues with both internal and external providers
Query language command - you can understand the data and can speak to your findings.
Rock-Solid communication skills, both internally and with clients.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
